Executive Director
Joben David
Joben is a firm believer in small communities and their ability to exert positive change. He is passionate about seeing people come together, as friends, to be a part of that story. His own journey has taken him from his childhood in rural India to studying and working in various parts of the world. His eclectic work experiences include stints at International Justice Mission, The Walt Disney Company, and Compass Coffee - a coffee startup. David has a BA in Philosophy and a MA in Christian Ministry from Baylor University in Waco, TX (yep). He loves living near mountains and is always on the lookout for his next adventure.
Community Chaplain
Heath Meikle
Heath spent 8 years living in Athens, Greece working in the inner-city alongside his wife Mariko and their family. Transitioning to Vancouver, Heath now works as a pastor at Christ City Church in East Van. He spends part of his time serving at Jacob’s Well doing everything from assisting with community meals, coming alongside community members and helping lead our worship night.
Pastor, anarchist, foodie, and wearer of avocado socks are just a few ways to describe Heath. When not in the DTES, he can be found cruising down the Sea-to-Sky highway on his motorcycle.
Community Bookkeeper
Khitam Quaddor
Khitam is a connector of community with genuine purpose of caring for her neighbour. Originally from Damascus, Syria her journey has brought her through Lebanon and eventually to Vancouver. A familiar face to many in the neighborhood, Khitam’s home is a welcome place and a gastronomic treat for friends that have the honour of sharing her table. She manages the accounting books at Jacob’s Well and also works at St. James Music Academy.
Community Coordinator
Chris Sundby
Chris grew up a hop, skip, and a ferry ride away from Vancouver in Victoria, BC. He more recently moved back from Winnipeg after receiving a BA in Conflict Resolution and Mennonite Studies from the University of Winnipeg. He is currently studying at Regent College and plans to pursue history or an interdisciplinary concentration. When not reading in the library, at a coffee shop, or at home, Chris is likely out for a trail run or hanging around Jacob's Well.
Social Work Intern
Hannah Kochuk
Hannah (she/her) settled in Vancouver in 2019 after completing a BA in Criminology and History from Western University in London, Ontario. She is currently studying Social Work at the University of Calgary and has joined Jacob’s Well as a practicum student. Hannah is an anti-violence worker who has dedicated her career to walking alongside survivors of gender-based violence and is passionate about creating safer communities for all folks. In her spare time, Hannah can be found curled up with a good book, watching hockey or out enjoying nature with her partner, Jordan and their puppy, Otis.
Community Administrator
Joyce Voo
Joyce has a soft spot in her heart for Jacob's Well, ever since she was welcomed into the community eight years ago when she joined Community Kitchen. She has spent most of her life in Vancouver, where she studied the humanities and education and worked as a high school teacher. She is currently on sabbatical from teaching and is focusing on her theological studies at Regent College and spending time at Jacob's Well. Joyce lives in Burnaby with her husband Joel and enjoys food, gardening, and a good book or movie.
