When I first started coming to the Well in the summer of 2016, I was a lot more put together than I am now.

It’s been awesome to have been a part of Jacob’s Well for so many years--it always feels like home when I walk through their doors.

The first thing I noticed was the doors-out of their ordinarily upright position, chipped, worn and stained, lying flat on four legs to create tables for community.

The thing that sticks out to me most about Jacob’s Well – what draws me in every time – is the reciprocal nature of friendship that exists within the community.

What has stayed with me is the genuine love the Jacob’s Well team had for those in the Downtown Eastside, and for that memory and influence I have always been grateful.

My time at the Jacob’s Well community kitchen was a wonderful and very formative time for me.

I was involved with Jacob's Well from 2005 - 2009 when my wife and I were living in Vancouver for her to attend Regent College.

We have some really wonderful memories from our time at Jacob’s Well... All told, we were there for 10 years.

I asked God to bring me another group which would be life-giving to me. Enter, Jacobs Well.

We are ever-grateful for Jacob's Well, and for what it taught us about loving our neighbours, about justice, and about joy.

I'm grateful for all the ways he called me on my bull$#!t and helped me be honest with myself, God and others.
